Royal Wedding Party Friday 29th April 2011

Worcester Lawn Tennis Club hosted a magnificent street party for the residents of Northwick Close and the members of the tennis club.

This was a combined operation, organised by a group of club members and the surrounding residents, and over 140 guests attended, including cardboard cut-outs of William and Kate! A delicious lunch was supplied by all the guests who brought generous amounts of food, with the centre-piece being tiers of patriotically decorated cup cakes.

The clubhouse and grounds looked wonderful, and with 5 barbecues working hard to keep up with the demand, everyone was able to have a lovely lunch and sit outside, enjoying the good weather, after watching the wedding on the big screen in the clubhouse. There was tennis available all day, face painting, and even a big bouncy castle for added fun!

It was an exciting day for everyone who attended, and also served as a means for neighbours, friends and families to get together and celebrate the Royal Wedding in style.  Another party is already being planned to celebrate the Queen’s Jubiliee next year.
