Notices
Your committee endeavour to accommodate every member’s requirements when playing at the club. In order to do this every member needs to abide by certain rules of etiquette so that everyone achieves maximum benefit from membership of WLTC.
With this in mind, your committee would like to point out the following to all members when playing:
Shoe Tags
Shoe tags are issued to members as a cost effective and convenient way of membership identification. Please remember, anyone not wearing a shoe tag and not a club member is using your facilities without paying. During the summer season, people have been turned away from the club who are not members but who thought they could just turn up and play. We do not want to offend any bona-fide members but in a club, whose membership exceeds 300 it is not possible to identify all members. Please therefore always remember to wear your shoe tag.
Tennis Balls
During club championships, certain social occasions and events throughout the summer season balls are provided for play. However, for various reasons club ball stocks have been depleted considerably. Please ensure after your game if you are using club balls they are returned to the clubhouse for use by the next players.
Security
On a number of occasions, the clubhouse has been left with doors open, lights on and the television on. When leaving the club if you are the last to leave please ensure all lights and the TV are turned off and doors are locked. Please remember for health and safety reasons club rules state juniors under the age of 16 are not permitted in the clubhouse unless accompanied by an adult member.
Court Etiquette
If you and/or your partner or opponent have to walk behind a game or match being played please remember not to cross whilst play is taking place but wait until there is a break in play e.g. when a point is won or lost, as this can be a distraction to players.
Tidiness
Please remember for safety reasons, glasses or cups should not be taken on court. When leaving the court please remember to take all belongings, balls and litter back to the clubhouse.
Lost Property
Personal belongings found in the clubhouse will be kept for one month and if not claimed will be donated to charity. If you have lost or mislaid any belongings, please contact Phil Hawkins or Chris Reece.
Worcester Lawn Tennis Club is run by volunteers for the benefit of all members. We aim to make it accessible so that all members can enjoy the excellent facilities. On behalf of the members, we therefore ask everyone using the club to abide by the rules and etiquette. If you have any questions regarding the above or have any suggestions for improving the facilities, please contact me or any member of the Committee.
Yours sincerely,
Phil Hawkins
Secretary
